The most traditional, firmest engagement of the season of the Symphony Orchestra of Tenerife is the concert offered at the Santa Cruz harbour on the evening of Christmas Day. Throughout the years, this festive and emotional multitudinous family event has seen many great stars of Western instrumental and vocal performance. This year, the trend is re-affirmed thanks to the presence of Chilean star Cristina Gallardo-Domâs, who lives in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A broad, flexible, harmonics-rich lyric soprano voice, Gallardo is specially renowned for her chilling performances of Puccini’s fragile heroines. She will give an exceptional recital of arias by this composer, conducted by great Puccinian maestro Lü Jia.
