Season Subscription Concert no. 10

OST season 2009-2010

Tenerife Auditorium "Adán Martín".
Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

March 19th Friday 20:30 h.

  • WITOLD LUTOSŁAWSKI Dance preludes, for clarinet and chamber orchestra*
  • JOAN GUINJOAN Concerto for clarinet and orchestra*
  • SERGEI RAJMANINOV Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op 44

* First time by this orchestra

One of the features of the current season of the OST is the strong commitment to great names of Spanish musical interpretation that are beginning to cross our country's artistic borders to embark on international careers. Barcelona-born conductor Josep Caballé-Domenech has already conducted an impressive list of great European orchestra groups and is rapidly gaining prestige in the Old Continent's opera houses, whereas Joan Enric Lluna, the most famous clarinet player in our country, is appearing in the international scene as a member of highly reputed chamber groups and as a clarinet soloist in concerts. This programme will pay tribute to him and open new perspectives, going beyond the commonplace to present creations for solo clarinet by W. Lutoslawski and J. Guinjoan, whilst the second part will offer a joyous re-encounter with S. Rachmaninoff, that favourite with all audiences.
