Christopher Hogwood has been making history in musical interpretation for the last quarter of a century. Through his Academy of Ancient Music, his research and his tireless work as a guest conductor of renowned symphony orchestras, Hogwood has been one of the contributors to that great musical revolution, still in effect today, dubbed historically informed performance from the demanding British perspective. For this presentation in Tenerife he combines his prestige in 18th-century music with his lesser-known passion for the 20th century in a programme that revolves around the serenade genre. The apparently very different names of Mozart, Reger and Britten find perfect cohesion as all the works belong to this genre commonly associated with refinement, intimacy and nocturnal enchantment.
