The enthusiastic clamour from both critics and audiences confirms Javier Perianes' status as one of the most outstanding Spanish artists. Already immensely popular in Spain, his reputation is constantly growing abroad.
Born in Nerva in 1978, Javier Perianes is a regular participant in many Spanish festivals, such as those held in Santander, Granada, the Canary Islands, Peralada and San Sebastián. He has been invited to participate in distinguished concert series throughout the world, including the Madrid National Auditorium -the Scherzo Cycle of Young Pianists of the 21st Century-, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Shanghai Conservatory, the Ravinia and Gilmore International Festivals in Chicago, the La Roque D'Anthéron Festival in France and the Konzerthaus Berlin.
J. Perianes has received training and inspiration from pianists like Daniel Barenboim, Richard Goode and Alicia de Larrocha. He has participated in the television project Barenboim on Beethoven and recently made his debut as a soloist with D. Barenboim, in L. van Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto.
He has received numerous awards in piano competitions, including the first prize and gold medal in the 42nd Jaén International Piano Competition, the first prize in the 8th Jacinto e Inocencio Guerrero Foundation International Piano Competition, and the third prize and bronze medal in the 14th Vianna da Motta International Competition in Lisbon.
J. Perianes has collaborated with distinguished conductors, such as Lorin Maazel, Jesús López Cobos, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Daniel Harding, Libor Pešek, Vasily Petrenko and Josep Pons. His future projects include concerts at Carnegie Hall and the Miami Performing Arts Center, and engagements with Spanish and international orchestras, such as the Dresdner Philharmonie, the Nederlands Kamerorkest -Concertgebouw-, the Hong-Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, BandArt and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. He will also perform in chamber concerts with the Brentano Quartet, Isabel Charisius and Barbabás Kelemen.
His recording projects with Harmonia Mundi have received enthusiastic acclaim from international critics. His most recent recordings are F. Mompou's Música Callada and a cd dedicated to F. Schubert's Impromptus and Klavierstücke.
