Royston Maldoom

Choreographer

Royston Maldoom was born in London in 1943, and studied dance in the English capital and in New York.

For the past thirty years, his work as a choreographer has travelled worldwide and his name became well known to the general public after his participation in the film Rhythm Is It, which received awards at various film festivals.

Starting from his firm conviction that art can change the individual as well as society, R. Maldoom staged Carmina Burana with street children in Ethiopia in 1996.

He has directed youth dance projects in Peru, South Africa, Bosnia, Great Britain and Germany, amongst other countries.
